Scotland’s Year of Stories 2022 – ‘Walter Traill Dennison: His Life and Times’, a talk by Tom Muir

To celebrate Scotland’s Year of Stories 2022, Sanday Development Trust, through the Sanday Heritage Group, have planned some events for the 24^th, 25^th and 26^th June, focussing on Walter Traill Dennison (1825 – 1894). A native of Sanday, Walter Traill Dennison collected local folk stories and published them, many in the local dialect, in the Orcadian Sketchbook. He was also the author of a number of studies of traditional life.

This event has been supported by the Year of Stories 2022 Community Stories Fund. This fund is being delivered in partnership between VisitScotland and Museums Galleries Scotland with support from National Lottery Heritage Fund thanks to National Lottery players.
